Hello! Thought I'd post quickly before I'm off to bed......
Everything is just peachy. John's mom is staying with us this week. She is out from Georgia for the holiday season and we haven't actually seen her that much. She's spent a couple of nights with us, but mostly has been staying at my sister-in-law's. The kids are thrilled! Especially the youngest. She is just in heaven to have "Gamma" around. She wasn't old enough when my mother-in-law moved out to really appreciate having her around full time. The boys did have Grandma around for a little while, but my daughter was only 1 when Grandma moved away. It's nice to have the whole family back together again.
Lately, we've had a really nice "family" thing going on.....every Sunday, my sister-in-law, my 2 nieces have been coming to our house to hang out and watch football and BBQ. I think I've seen more of the three of them in the last 6 months than I have in the last 2 years. It's great! I didn't have a lot of "extended" family around once my family moved from Seattle to Fresno, so it's really neat (ugh!) that we have it now. I can remember growing up in Seattle with my cousins and aunts and uncles around, so it seemed like there was always family around. Once we moved to Fresno, we became a little more isolated. This is the one thing that concerns me about moving back east. We will be a lot more isolated from the family, only getting to see everyone once or twice a year. Something definitely to take in mind. It's mostly John's sister and mother I worry about. My parents have a little more ability to travel to see us. Heck! We might even see my side of the family more if we move back east (ha-ha!). Everyone is so busy, it's hard to get together. I remember when we lived in San Jose and my parents would come for a visit, we would have them all to ourselves, which was nice. Everything seems so rushed nowadays. Oh well!
Well I think I've babbled enough for tonight! Later!
