F5

List five things you'd like to accomplish by the end of the year.

*Get the house in order (organize the kitchen, clean out my closet. Etc)
*Get my business books in order
*Get my filing at work done
*Make a household budget for next year that we can live with
*Land one more repeat client

List five people you've lost contact with that you'd like to hear from again.

I can’t think of anyone whom I’m not already in contact with the exception
of Diane’s brother Gary. She hasn’t been able to contact him for a couple of
years now and I know she worries about him. I need to call some people, like
Diane, and my sister, who I haven’t talked to for at least a month.

List five things you'd like to learn how to do.

*Make a piecrust that isn’t tough
*Be charming
*Become a wine expert
*Identify the constellations
*Balance my life

List five things you'd do if you won the lottery (no limit).

*Take a year and drive (yes, in a car!) all over the United States and Canada.
*Go to the Culinary Institute of America and Sommelier school in Sonoma
(or is it Napa?)
*Open my own catering deli and gourmet foods store
*Build a bigger house and buy Larry all the geek stuff he wants
*Make it so my parents could retire early

List five things you do that help you relax.

*Cook
*Read
*Watch movies with Larry
*Have a little cocktail or two when I get home
*Walk around the property

Finally Time To Post!

ok...I've been meaning to post for quite a while now but I never seem to have the time. But if John and Amy can find the time I guess I can as well. Things have been busy busy busy! Interest in my business has picked up and I now have three full time clients with three more possible ones in the works. My goal is to have between 8 and 10 full time clients so I'm well on my way! The downside to this is that I still have all my responsibilities at the office. They haven't even begun to look for a replacement. I know I could give a thirty notice for good and never go back but, and this is really ironic, I actually like going in occasionally now. I think its because I'm treated more as a professional and less like a lackey and I also really appreciate the flexible schedule. I don't know for how much longer I can swing both jobs however. Today I cooked, had a fun time, was home by 2:30 and made a nice profit. That rocks! That's not to say this job isn't hard work. I cooked for 5 hours today but that doesn't include the time I spent planning the menu and shopping for the groceries. Nor does it include all the time I've spent organizing and promoting my business. Owning your own business is hard but I think it will be worth it.

Larry is just as busy as I am. He works full time and goes to school three nights a week. He's graduating with his BA in about three weeks but then he's applied to Graduate school so I don't see much of a break in his schedule any time soon. This weekend he's going to Dallas for another Comic Book and Gaming Convention. I wish we could take a vacation together but with our schedules I don't see that happening for a while. We're planning a trip to Seattle in the Spring and that will make it about 18 months since we've gone away together for more than one night. Even though we're only part time parents its still difficult for us to spend any quality time together. The best part of the day is about nine o'clock at night when we crawl into bed together to watch tv. That's is our alone time and sometimes it only lasts about 15 minutes before one of us has fallen asleep. How did our lives get so hectic?

The animals are doing fine although I feel like I've been neglecting them lately. We still have to lock Jack up in the kitchen to feed him because he gets all agra at the cats. That means I have to hang out with him in the kitchen to spend time with him. The other two dogs can hang out in the living room with us and the cats without any problem. Speaking of the cats, Mina, the tortoise shell, has become very friendly and will even let strangers pet her. Scarlet, the black cat, loves to spend time with us and is very affectionate but will hide whenever someone new comes over. She even runs from Kyrielle. They have become quite obnoxious however. I can't leave food on the table or the counter unsupervised because they jump up there every chance they get, even after I scold them. We're almost ready for our new arrival, Chloe the pony. Larry, with much appreciated help from our good friend Tony, has finished the fence line, hung two new stock gates and framed the loafing shed. Now we just need to hang the sheetmetal and we'll be ready. Kyrielle is going to be so stoked! She was telling our frind Trina (Tony's wife) that she can't get a horse until she is ten because that's how old you have to be to have your own horse. I don't know how she got that idea in her head but fine with me. She'll be super suprised to get her own pony when she's only eight!

That's about it. For being so busy I never seem to have much to post about. We're going to Tony and Trina's for Thansgiving. They have a dinner every year for those of us who won't be spending the day with family. I'm really looking forward to just hanging out with some good friends, drinking some beers and chowing down. I so need it! I need to wrap this up. I'm waiting for a client to call and I have to clean my kitchen. I'll try to post again soon!
