Update

Here's the good news - I'm actually posting something.

Here's the bad news - I have nothing exciting to report.

The Xterra saga continues. Just to refresh everyone's memory, Larry was at a stoplight in Arlintgton, Tx when two other cars ran a red light, collided with each other, and then crashed into him. He wasn't hurt but the car was. The dingleberry insurance adjustor for State Farm gave a cursory inspection of the body work but didn't even bother to look under the hood and authorized the bodyshop for $3,000 worth of repairs. Naturally, once the bodyshop guys got the car and actually looked under the hood, they found all sorts of mechanical damage. Now the repair estimate is up to more than $6,000 but as of Friday the body shop was still waiting to hear back from State Farm to authorize the additional repairs. We MIGHT have the Xterra back by Christmas. And I would just like to mention that the people from State Farm, our insurance company, whom we pay $130.00 a month to handle situations just like this, are being supreme assholes about the whole thing. The car sat in the police impound lot for a week, at a daily charge, before the adjustor got around to looking at it and then Larry got chewed out by the State Farm CSR for leaving it in the lot for a week and running up the charges. Huh? Just what in the F*** were we supposed to do with it? Needless to say I'm very very disappointed with State Farm's cutomer service and will be shopping for a new carrier as soon as this fiasco is over and we're 100% compensated for our troubles.

In other news, I'm cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year. We usually go over to Tony and Trina's but their in the middle of a home remodel so we're doing it over here this year. I'm excited because we'll get to smoke the turkey this year. Yum yum! And then, on Saturday, it's Gumbo Day, where I make a big pot of gumbo with all the leftover turkey and ham, and everyone comes back over and we pig out again. So we actually get two Thanksgivings around here.

ummm....I really can't think of anything else to post about...and I need to get dressed and go shopping...so bye!
