I found the results to once again be fairly on target, a few of the careers that are in there are ones I've always thought I'd like. I've always beeen interested in other languages, I've always seen myself as a kind of teacher, I do the bookeeping in the family, and I always enjoyed doing the merchandising when I was in retail. The one I completely disagree with is "telemarketer". I did that for a short time when I lived in Fresno and I was a complete failure, I do not have the ability to cold call people and try to sell them on something.
Lately I've been thinking that instead of becoming a dog groomer I might become a licensed beautician and try to work towards having my own hair salon. I still like the idea of dog grooming, but I just can't figure out a practical way for me to learn the skills I need and get the business off the ground out here in the country. The nearest licenesing program is in New York and I can't exactly leave my family for 3 months while to get licensed. If I became a licensed beautician there are many more opportunities for me out here and if we ever moved it would be easy to get licensed somehwere new.
Posted by John at August 13, 2004 12:14 PMI think being a beautician would be fabu! In fact, I'd volunteer for a color project, always looking for hair experiments! :)
