It is monday so I thought I would do my friday five.
1. If you had the chance to meet someone you've never met, from the past or present, who would it be?
Napoleon Hill
2. If you had to live in a different century, past or future, which would it be?
Future…but I am not sure if it is the future of Planet of the Apes or the future of Star Trek (either would be fine with me).
3. If you had to move anywhere else on Earth, where would it be?
New York City!!!
4. If you had to be a fictional character, who would it be?
Shrek…he is the most OK with who he is than anyone.
5. If you had to live with having someone else's face as your own for the rest of your life, whose would it be?
Nicholas Cage…no wait…John Travolta…no wait…I forget which is which.
It has been a while since I have served in the military. But I can say I was proud when I did and proud to have served under the first President Bush. I can honestly say that I am not happy that lives are about to be lost. I am not happy that families are going to lose loved ones. I can however say that I support this administration and if I were asked to serve today, I would gladly. President Bush is the Leader of this country elected in the way this country established. He is also a figurehead to voice the decisions of the government, he did not wake up one day and say hey everyone lets go to war. Say what you want about him, say what you want about America, just remember that when you say it, it is because of the freedoms we are defending across the globe. Hug someone today, tell them you love them, tell them you care and be happy you have the right and ability to do it.
1.Do you like talking on the phone? Why or why not?
Nope, The only time I talk on the phone is when it is work or a telemarketer...neither of which does anything for me.
2. Who is the last person you talked to on the phone?
Jeff, to tell him we are smoking chickens (swear to god, I do not need another how do you get big enough papers, joke) this weekend and he and his wife need to come help eat them.
3. About how many telephones do you have at home?
We have two phones at the house (1 is usually unplugged so we can be on the internet) and two cell phones. (Then there is the phone graveyard which holds about 20 old phones we have owned through the years but have not yet discarded.)
4. Have you encountered anyone who has really bad phone manners? What happened?
Script readers should not be allowed to talk on the phone...learn the script...practice on your co workers...then get on the phone...when I say sorry not interested...don't continue reading...say yes sir thank you and hang up. So I guess I am the rude one ;) .
5. Would you rather pick up the phone and call someone or write them an e-mail or a letter? Why or why not?
I am going to add a new option, I would rather IM. It is the instant fixx of needing the information but none of the extraneous nicities of the phone. I can feel like crap and say on IM that I need a file and you never know by my voice that I mean listen you stupid moron...that file I have been needing for the past week...where the heck is it.
This Friday 5 gives me an excellent opportunity to talk about one of my hobbies.
When a telecommunications company calls and asks about my phone service or if I would like to switch or gives any indication that they are a telecommunications company I will interrupt the person and say "I'm sorry I don't have a phone" now the trick here is to not automatically hang up...wait at least 3 seconds...and listen...this is important...the reactions you will hear are priceless.
Another phone thing that is fun for me is people who call offering me the same service that I already have. I have had an ADT home alarm system on my house for 12 years...and on the new house the day after we moved in. I get calls constantly from ADT sales people asking if I would like a free system. This is so much fun...I say YES that sounds great and I immediatly make an appointment. When they show up I ask why they are there and show them my system and that it is (and had been) installed for years and is (and had been monitored). This is so much fun that once I had 2 calls in one day and set up 2 appointments for the exact same time.
Pease feel free to ask my lovely wife if this is true...and remember like the Earth, I'm Mostly Harmless.
Peer pressure has gotten the best of me. So I Begged John, John I said, Please...Please let me have a blog. And after I filled out what seems like endless forms and signed over 3 pints of blood to him he said sure anything for someone as close as we are. Such begins my journey.
I am Larry, however I am also known as Evil Larry, Dammit Larry, and $#^%ing #@$@#$%, wow it won't let me type $#^%ing #@$@#$%. I was born a poor black child, wait that was The Jerk, I get us confused sometimes. I am from Harrisburg PA now living in Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweeping blah blah blah, how did I get to Oklahoma, hmmm, I will have to tell that story some day.
I have a 7 yr old daughter, Kyrielle, and I am married to this chick I met on the internet one day. Boy the stories you could tell me about her. Anyhow, I am 4 classes short of getting my Bachelors in Business Management, I am planning on graduating in Dec. and then starting an MBA program. My hobbies are finding people's weaknesses and exploiting them and running things into the ground. I also religiously play with little plastic super hero action figures.
Ocassionally I will change the names of people in my blog to protect the innocent (if they really are).
As you will find I am just like Earth, Mostly Harmless.
