I had been eyeing all of the limited edition Walt Disney Treasures DVD tins for a while, but when Costco started offering them for $18.99 I couldn't resist. I wanted to start with Silly Symphonies, but wife insisted on Mickey Mouse, and she was right.

The earliest memory I have of seeing a movie was sitting in the balcony of the Covell Theater in Modesto as a child and seeing Mickey's Trailer as the short before Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. However, I never really saw Mickey as the icon he was to so many children who grew up in the 30's. As a matter of fact, until this collection I only knew a handful of his shorts and I had no idea there were so many.

This set is exactly what I've come to expect from Disney DVD. The package looks great, but is missing a good insert booklet with more information. The DVDs look great and sound good too. They weren't remastered into 5.1 which I can understand why.

For me the real accomplishment is that my 2, 4, and 8 year old kids have asked to watch the the collection everyday since we brought it home, they laugh and love Mickey, proof that he is probably the most timeless character Disney ever brought to life.
